Sam Bauer
Bio
Samuel C. Bauer, or “Sam” to everyone who knows him, is a trial lawyer dedicated to the fields of criminal defense and personal injury. Sam has appeared as counsel in some of the most complex civil and criminal trials heard in our State’s Courts and, when required, has taken appeals to the South Carolina Supreme Court.
Sam has served as President of the Beaufort County Bar Association, and President of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. For more than 20 years he has served as a member of the Jurisprudence section of the American Association of Forensic Sciences. In January 2024, Sam was sworn in by Chief Justice Roberts, as a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
With a scientific background unique in the legal community, Sam has litigated some of the most complex criminal and civil cases in both the State and Federal Courts.
Among his outstanding credentials, Sam is death penalty certified by the Supreme Court and is recognized by his peers for his dedication in the field of DUI defense.
Sam is a frequent lecturer at legal education classes for both lawyers and judges. He has served as both a public defender and as a Municipal Court Prosecutor. As a lifeline member of the lowcountry, he has a strong history of charitable and volunteer work. Sam currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of a Hilton Head Prep, a local non-profit school offering JK-12 education.
